Nothing holds a man down stronger than fear,
A weight, a darkness, that’s always near.
Fear, hmmm, it’s heavy, it’s stark,
It binds the strongest heart, yet can be conquered by a spark,
A glimmer of hope, faith in what’s true,
Can shatter fear’s hold, bring courage anew.

Sickness, death, regret, stagnancy,
These are the shadows that fear fancies.
Ripping the mind, losing the glimpse,
Of life’s charm, making you limp.
The unknown looms, making vibrant men,
Feel helpless, powerless, again and again.

Fear made the scribes bow and see,
Themselves as insects, weak as can be.
They brought back fruits, proof of the land’s grace,
Yet fear turned their strength into disgrace.
Fear turned Gideon, valiant and bold,
Into a fugitive, hiding from the cold.

But listen, you’ve got the keys to break free,
God’s given us love, a mind that’s sound, you see.
When panic attacks, remember this line,
It’s a spirit of fear, cast it out, don’t resign.
Fear has no place in a child of God’s life,
Banish it, conquer it, end the strife.
